Women: Oshkosh, Carthage win Top 25 battles

Sarah Stecker scored 26 points and added nine rebounds as No. 19 UW-Oshkosh outlasted No. 23 UW-Stevens Point 75-68 in overtime.

The Titans improved to 14-1, 5-1 in the WIAC and take over sole possession of second place in the conference. No. 17 UW-Whitewater won at UW-Platteville 72-60 behind 18 points from Andrea Olsen to remain unbeaten in the conference. 

Stephanie Kuzmanic poured in a career-high 34 points and added eight assists and eight rebounds to lift No. 14 Carthage past No. 12 Wheaton (Ill.) 77-69. She shot 11-of-17 from the floor and 6-for-9 from 3-point range in the win. 

Melissa Tobie scored seven of her game-high 20 points in the final 4:25 as 10th-ranked Montclair State closed out the game on a 14-0 run winning the battle of NJAC unbeatens with a 56-46 victory over TCNJ. Senior Nicosia Henry had 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals as the Red Hawks (14-1) improved to 8-0 in the league with its eighth straight victory.

No. 13 York (Pa.) cruised to its 14th win behind 16 points and 17 rebounds from senior Brittany Hicks. No. 15 St. Thomas knocked down 10-of-14 baskets from 3-point range, five by Katie Stone, in a 79-52 MIAC victory at Gustavus Adolphus. 

Baldwin Wallace handed No. 16 John Carroll its first loss of the season, defeating the Blue Streaks 97-85 behind 26 points from Alissa Munro and 23 from Jessica Lairson. 

Moravian's Mary Beth Spirk and Springfield's Naomi Graves each reached career milestones with wins on Wednesday night. Spirk reached the 500-win plateau as Moravian defeated Drew 58-44 while Graves got her 400th win as Springfield defeated Mount Holyoke 54-47.

Stephanie Martinez heaved a 40-foot bank shot that went through with .3 seconds left to lift Stevenson past Messiah 72-70. The game featured 18 lead changes.

The winless streak continued for Mount St. Mary, as the Knights lost to Mount St. Vincent 87-55. Brittany Carroll scored a career-high 20 points and led five Dolphins in double figures in the win. The Knights still have not won since cutting 600-game winner Randy Ognibene loose shortly before the start of the season. 

Cassidy Burkholder knocked down a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Bridgewater to a 58-56 victory over Shenandoah. Heather Cantrell had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles.
