The St. John Fisher lead would not last long, however, as Brooklyn showed its resiliency in battling back to retake the lead, 23-21, at the 6:10 mark using a 14-2 run, which was capped by a three pointer from John. John and junior Keiran Halton helped spark the run scoring five points apiece. Halton would finish the day with five points and eight rebounds.

Both teams would exchange baskets the rest of the way, as BC headed into the locker room with a one point advantage, 26-25.
