LANGHORNE, Pa. - The Rosemont College men's basketball squad placed four players in double-figures and shot a scalding 65.4% from the floor in their win over the host Philadelphia Biblical University Crimson Eagles tonight by a final score of 88-68. The win was the second straight for the Ravens who improve to 9-7 (5-4 CSAC) while PBU moves to 3-11 (1-8 CSAC) with the result.
The Crimson Eagles started off the game taking a 7-2 lead with 2:19 played. But a layup from Tremell Green (Jr./BOK/Philadelphia) and a trey from Harrison Carsillo (Sr./Collingswood, NJ) tied the score. The teams traded baskets to remain tied at 9-9 five minutes into the game. A bucket from Justin Chaney (Jr./Williamstown, NJ) put the Ravens in front 11-9; a lead they would not give up the rest of the evening. Chaney's bucket started an 11-0 run to give the Ravens a 20-9 lead with 7:46 left in the half. Rosemont led by as many as 16 points in the half (32-16) before taking a 36-23 lead into the break.
Rosemont's DeAndre Jordan's (Jr./Henry E. Lackey/Marbury, MD) basket from downtown only 14 seconds into the second half put a damper on any early second-half momentum that the Crimson Eagles would want to build. The Ravens slowly built on their lead to forge a 25-point lead at 65-40 with 9:11 left in the game and PBU never threatened from that point.
The Ravens were led in scoring by Chaney with 17 points. Harrison Carsillo added 13 while his brother Mitch Carsillo (Jr./Collingswood, NJ) pitched in with 11 points as did Derrick Carter (Jr./Millville, NJ).
PBU's Seth Heinicke led all scorers with 23 points. Adam Derus and Charles Kennedy each added 15 points for the Crimson Eagles. Heinicke had 10 boards to earn a double-double on the night.
Rosemont shot 73.1% in the second half on 19-for-26 shooting and ended up shooting 34-for-52 (65.4%) overall. The Ravens added seven blocks in the victory.
Rosemont returns home on Saturday, 1/21 to host the Gwynedd-Mercy Griffins in a 1:00pm CSAC game at Alumnae Hall.
