NEW YORK – Anthony Lewis scored 26 points on 10-of-11 shooting, Brandon Reeves posted his third double-double of the year with 13 points and 11 rebounds and Paul Dail dished out a career-high 13 assists as the City College of New York men's basketball team (4-4) ended a four-game losing streak by defeating Wilkes University (2-4), 81-71.
On a night when the Beavers scored a season-best 81 points and shot 50 percent from the field for the first time this season, City College's offense clicked on all cylinders as CCNY dished out 22 assists on 29 made field goals.
Dail was finding the open man at ease and added seven steals while Reeves filled up the stat sheet with two assists, two blocks and four steals. David Solano and Terence Johnston also reached double figures with 13 points and 14 points, respectively.
The Beavers bench scored 26 points as Jordan Ortega added eight points and two offensive rebounds in 19 minutes.
Big man Bernard Edmonds led the Colonels with 23 points and eight rebounds, going 10-of-18 from the field.
The Beavers return to CUNYAC action on Sunday, Dec. 7 to take on Baruch College at ARC Arena at 5 PM.
