Men’s Basketball Loses at Wilson College

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost on to Wilson College on Saturday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game by the score of 94-75.

The Wolves (3-17, 3-12 NEAC) conclude their weekend with a game at Gallaudet University on Sunday.

Keuka College had five players score in double figures, three of which earned double-doubles. Cliff Stevens (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa) led Keuka with 18 points and 12 rebounds on the afternoon. Dylan Doupe (Phoenix, N.Y. / John C. Birdlebough) scored 15 points and collected 10 rebounds. Rounding out the double-doubles for the Wolves was sophomore Trevor Powell (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn). He tied Stevens for the team lead in rebounding with 12 while adding 12 points. The other two starters for the Wolves, Greg Tyler (Edgewater, Md. / Southern) and Cameron Winston (Freeport, N.Y. / Pomfret School), added 12 and 11 points in the loss.

Wilson College jumped out to an early lead over the Wolves on Saturday. The Phoenix used a 10-0 run in the middle of the half to push their lead out to 19 points, 32-13. The Wolves fought to stay in the game, but Wilson maintained their margin for most of the half. A three-pointer by the Phoenix at the buzzer gave Wilson a 48-26 halftime lead.

The Wolves continued to work to cut into the lead, but every attempt was met by Wilson. The Phoenix used their three-point shooting to their advantage. In the game, Wilson outscored Keuka 30-6 from behind the arc. With eight minutes left to play, the Wolves scored eight unanswered to narrow the score to 69-61. However that would be as close as Keuka would make it. Wilson College answered with a basket and made their free throws in the closing minutes. They would defeat Keuka College 94-75.
