MADISON, N.J. – Despite a 17-2 run late in the second half, the William Paterson men's basketball team (4-1) was unable to overcome the deficit and fell 75-67 at FDU-Florham (3-2) Nov. 22.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • FDU-Florham carried a double-digit advantage into the second half and led 71-49 with 5:20 left to play in the game.
  • However, the Pioneers got into a groove offensively and a 3-pointer by sophomore Jianni Moran sparked a 17-2 WP run that made it a seven-point game (73-66) with 1:24 remaining. During that stretch, the Pioneers shot 6-for-6 (1.000) from the floor and 4-for-4 (1.000) from deep.
  • That would be as close as the pioneers would get as the Devils earned the 75-67 home win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Sophomore Jack Gobel buried three treys and finished with a team-high 15 points to pair with six rebounds.
  • Senior Cam Reyes went 5-of-6 (.833) from the field for a season-best 13-point performance to go with six boards.
  • Moran tallied nine points.
  • Junior Fred Orock Jr. recorded eight points, seven boards and two blocks.
  • Senior Ethan Paul notched a season-best seven rebounds and four steals, adding seven points, two blocks and a pair of assists.
